Pastor Mark Carpenter
Senior Pastor
Pastor Carpenter had the great privilege to grow up in a pastor’s home where his parents genuinely loved and served the Lord. He was saved a week before his sixth birthday on October 29th, 1976. “I was under conviction about being saved so I asked my dad to help me. He took his New Testament and walked me through the Scriptures. After understanding my need and that the Lord loved me and wanted to save me, I called out to the Lord in faith to save me.”
During his pre-teen years Pastor Carpenter was called to preach but struggled with full surrender. It wasn’t until about 18 months after his high school graduation, under great conviction, he fully surrendered to the call of God in his life. Pastor began attending Massillon Baptist College where he met Rachael. He graduated in May of 1994 and he and Rachael were married in June.
God has blessed Pastor and Rachael with two sons, their spouses, and are now very much enjoying the gift of their first grandchild!!
Pastor Carpenter has served in the ministry since 1994 as a youth pastor, a Christian school teacher, assistant pastor, and a senior pastor. The Lord led the Carpenters to Heritage in the summer of 2019 and they are thrilled to be serving the Lord with this church family.
Pastor and Rachael love to take road trips to the Blue Ridge Mountains and enjoy trying great local eateries (“that do not always turn out great”) while traveling.
“I have been so blessed to see the Lord do things in my life and ministry far greater than I ever imagined! He is a great and wonderful Lord and I desire to honor and glorify Him with my life!”
Ephesians 3:20 “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,”
